Bambu Lab P1P Core-XY 3D Printer Review Specifications News

Bambu Lab P1P Core-XY 3D FDM 3D Printer opened up for pre-ordering on November 25, 2022. This is Bambu Lab’s third model release based on the same successful design. Bambu released their X1 and X1-Carbon via a successful Kickstarter and followup standard pre-sales.

Some of the key features of the P1P Core-XY are the Cubed Frame, Fast acceleration plus high speed, High Temperature Printing, Multiple Sensors for quick and easy 3D printing and Ready-to-Use in about 15 minutes out-of-the-box.

Bambu Lab P1P Core-XY 3D Printer Specifications

Here are the specifications available from Bambu Lab as of the 22nd of November 2022 (Black Friday when Pre-Sales opened). With a few exceptions, the P1P Core-XY is very similar to its higher end (and more expensive) siblings, the X1 and X1 Carbon 3D printers.

As seen in the list above, the P1P Core-XY is loaded with most of the modern features and electronics build into a cube frame featuring Core-XY motion. The inclusion of WiFi, Bluetooth and APP connections may make the SD card obsolete and the small screen a minor issue.

If the Bambu Lab P1P Core-XY specifications are not impressive enough, check out their 18.5 minute 3D benchy video!

I feel the need, the need for speed! Yeah Baby!

Bambu Lab’s Add-Ons

Depending on when you order the Bambu Lab P1P (or its siblings), the included or bonus add-on components may vary. Fear not, it seems that Bambu Lab is selling just about every component to modify or upgrade a P1P Core-XY to nearly the same level as an X or X-Carbon 3D printer machine.

Currently, the site is a one-stop-shop that includes:

  • Auxiliary Part Cooling Fan (improved PLA quality at high speeds),
  • Mounted Chamber Camera,
  • Bambu Lab’s Multi-color AMS (Automated Material System),
  • Various Hotends,
  • Build Plates and sheets for most filament types,
  • Spare / Repair parts,
  • Enclosure components and upcoming side panel designs &
  • Filament – With or without a reusable core.

Bambu Lab P1P Core-XY Value

At this time, the P1P Core-XY is still in the Pre-Sale stage. Only a few YouTube channels have actual machines to test and review. Regardless, this FAST Core-XY FDM printer is priced very nicely ($699 USD) for its included features. It is considerably cheaper than a DIY Voron kit (approximately $1200 + hours of build time) and the future to-be-released Prusa XL Core-XY (which will not be cheap). This is not a putdown of Voron or Prusa, but some customers are budget minded and want machines that work straight out-of-the-box. With that in mind, if your budget and needs align with the Bambu Lab P1P, go check it out and maybe order one or more.

Article Sneak Peek?

You can call me crazy, a hoarder, OCD and/or impulsive. Call me whatever you like. I have wanted to build or buy a Core-XY ever since people started making kits for the Original Ender 5 (which was my first 3D printer). Hopefully, my wife won’t scowl too hard, since I purchased the pre-order on Black Friday around midnight. So keep an eye out, subscribe, follow, etc and hopefully I will have a full Bambu Lab P1P Core-XY review in a few months!

  • All Metal Hotends are designed for higher temperature materials. PLA filament can be used. However you may need to adjust temperatures, retractions and unload the filament after each job to minimize jams.
  • High Temperature Materials frequently print best in an enclosure, often with encased and/or additional heat. The P1P can easily be upgraded to an enclosed cube. In fact, Bambu will be releasing 3D files to assist customers with printing and building their own outer walls designs.
