Printing With Silk PLA
Silk PLA has some issues with bed adhesion and clogging due to its elastic additives. To solve this, try using a glue stick or hairspray on the build platform and check the extruder calibration to prevent under-extrusion and part shrinkage. However, there’s good news! Warping is not a prevalent issue with Geeetech Silk 3D printer filament. For the best results, print at a temperature range of 200-220°C, which makes it more durable and glossy. Increasing the temperature can also improve layer adhesion and minimize layer lines. Bed temperature is a bit uncertain, though many manufacturers suggest an unheated bed. Overall, experimenting with Silk PLA can be worth it for its unique appearance and properties, even if it requires some tuning.

We have carefully selected a diverse range of high-quality STL files that beautifully demonstrate the excellence of the Geeetech Silk PLA filament. Our team members have meticulously curated this collection of STL files to ensure that they showcase the exceptional silkiness and unique features of the Geeetech silk filament, allowing it to truly shine and stand out from the competition. Prior to starting with the 3D prints, We checked the bed levelling to ensure the Artillery Sidewinder X3 Plus 3D printer was evenly calibrated in all areas. We did random checks to verify that the 1.75mm diameter was true, and we found only minor variations. Additionally, the colour appeared consistent throughout the entire roll.
Geeetech Silk Purple PLA Filament
.
The Artillery Sidewinder X3 Plus 3D printer’s settings remained the same throughout the entire printing process. During our testing, we observed no visible defects or deformities in the filament quality. We plan to continue testing the filament until the very end of the 1KG roll to ensure consistency.

WHERE TO BY
The visual quality of the prints was impressive, with vivid colors and a smooth silky surface finish. We did notice a little bit of stringing in certain areas, but we don’t believe this was an issue with the Geeetech Silk PLA filament itself. Stringing is a common issue in 3D printing and can be caused by various factors, such as printing speed or temperature. However after the 3D models had finished we had no issues removing the 3D prints from the bed surfaces, We was rather pleased with our finished models these look fantasic in Geeetech Silk PLA filament.
