Masitte SLA 3D printers are created for people who rely on 3D printing not once in a while, but day by day. No one has time or energy to deal with any issues, such as print failures or problems from the SLA printer. Their work and 3D Printing are separated, the business has to run without ever having any issues because of 3D Printing.
Masitte is coming to the market with their real industrial grade high quality made Laser SLA 3D Printers just to make sure everyone focuses on their business and always gets the needed job they need from 3D printing.
Launching on Kickstarter February 15th
“Coming with Proven Reduced Separation Technology Masitte 3D Printer, built for high detailed, results in every resin print.”
The Journey of Creating Masitte
It’s amazing what 3D printer can print. However, we’ve all had those infuriating moments when, despite everything, a seemingly simple a model just refuses to print successfully. There is a lot of done in the industry over the last few years, but unfortunately, there isn’t any budget-friendly desktop laser SLA option for creators.
Well, not anymore. “Our story” with 3D Printing starts back in 2014. Our founder Fatih was a 21-year-old mechanical engineering student and used the very first FDM 3D Printer at his school. Fatih was always interested in creating, making, and as he worked with the printer, he wondered if he could create one himself. So, as a hobby project, he created his first-ever FDM 3D Printer out of wood.
Interesting right? Well, that model got some serious attention back in 2014, and he was encouraged to create a more durable printer. Fatih took the challenge and after taking this to his classmate Emrah they ended up creating “LadyBug“.
After graduation and working for two-plus years with 3D printing on the side, Fatih and Emrah realized their passion and decided to do it full time and create the 3D printer they always wanted. They moved to Shenzen, China capital of 3D printer manufacturing.
Once they were in China, they had access to a variety of manufacturing and different resources, and after a lot of hard work, the very first prototype of MASITTE was ready in 2019. Believe us… it wasn’t easy to make Masitte. After making the first prototype, there were three other prototypes with different functions and designs.
Masitte SLA 3D Printer Prototype Timeline
Early 2019 – First prototype, where the Z-axis was fully stable.
Late 2019 – After changing the design by putting Z-axis operation below.
Early 2020 – After making some adjustments, adding the lid, changing the outer case.
Mid 2021 – Final Designed Lid, it goes inside and slides through the 3D printer.
Finally, everything was ready, and after a lot of testing, we were done! We had a fully functioning Laser SLA 3D printer, ready for launching on Kickstarter. In early 2020, everything stopped.
Of course… Like it was for everyone else on the planet, the pandemic’s timing was terrible! We were about to do our project; however, we weren’t sure how it would go during a pandemic… So we waited. We didn’t know the what we would learn thanks to this wait.
What happened during Covid Time?
So when Covid started since everything stopped, our decision was to pivot and build couple more printers to sell individually. We thought our product was ready fully functioning.. Until we received the very first feedback from individuals who received our 3D Printer.
Our problems were minor, but they were still a problem. Cooperation and feedback from those first few customers are priceless. We can’t thank them enough! They allowed us to test our printers in different environments, for different models, with different resins, and different business practices.
Being 100% honest, if it wasn’t for Covid and we had launched our Kickstarter with these problems, there’s a good chance a substantial portion of our early adopters would have been disappointed in their printers. Just like many other Kickstarter projects that make it with zero manufacturing skills only with one not functioning prototype to shoot videos with. We have our existing clients that use the 3D printers we custom made for them and we perfected for their needs.
So luckily, with the help of our first users, we incorporated new technology which makes our printer adapt and work well in different environments (humidity, room temperature, different seasons… These are all different factors we had to address.) We also performed calibrations and resin tests for a wide variety of industries.The biggest issue our clients faced was the print failures. Prints that get broken, support that don’t hold many of the misprints.
Resin is a big factor, but we realized that the main reason failed prints would happen was because of the FEP films would stick onto the glass on the bottom which would cause very strong pulling and high sticking between new layer pulling to the up to be printed. We were getting noisy pulling and breakings aka failed prints. This is still an enormous problem that 90% of the desktop resin printers don’t have a solution for.
Fortunately, our engineering was able to come out with Reduced Separation technology that is unique to our 3D printers that avoids the print failures.
How We Came Up With Every Model We Have
Masitte Plus – We did the calibrations and adjustments, it was sent to a small company that uses to get 3D printed parts to test before going production, after getting expected results with high accuracy. Masitte Plus was ready.
Masitte Dent – Dental usage in 3D printing is huge, because of the demand, high accuracy, and detail requirements, we created MASITTE Dent, 3D printer that is specifically created for the needs of an orthodontist or a dental lab.
Masitte Large – The last model we made was born from the demand of shoe sole manufacturers. Industrial laser SLA printers are very expensive for their industry and the cheap LCD 3D printers was a tremendous headache with less accuracy and success rate. Masitte Large took the place of their MSLA printers helps them to get industrial laser-quality prints with no issues.
So that’s our story, and how we ended up with three models for different industries, variety of applications..
Hopefully, we’ve shown that we can be the solution you need as you’ve read about our dedicated journey to get to this point. And because of early adopters like you, you’re making it possible for us to create a 3D printer brand that can keep coming up with needed solutions. As young creators working on this as a side project for the last six years, we’ve come a long way to deliver the solution you need. But there’s still much more to accomplish.
So your role by believing us and our proven product is big. If you didn’t join our Facebook Group yet use the link below to join. Follow us on our Kickstarter Page to get notified first when we launch!
Why Choose Masitte?
Today 3D printing is a necessity for many small businesses for a variety of usages, from prototyping to production. A high resolution, fine detail print without failing to get the needed work day by day is possible with industrial machines. The only issue is these printers cost 50-80k on average.
When it comes to the desktop option of laser stereolithography (sla) there is only one option to go for, why the laser SLA should not be more accessible? Compared with the other laser SLA option, Masitte is lighter, quieter, and prints faster while matching the XY resolution for 25-micron print quality. Most importantly, it helps users to save $1000+ for the printers $100+ for the resins per kilo.
With MSLA printers that need non-stop replacements for the LCD screens (ends up in landfills) not giving the same printing results on the sides and corners of the build plate for lack of light distribution, nonstop screen issues, broken down pixels MSLA 3D printers are the nightmare of a small business owner, who just needs to high-quality print done in their everyday usage in long term. We know this from our early users who tried LCD Resin printers, Masitte’s difference in productivity can’t even be compared.
Made by high-quality industrial-grade full metal body parts, Masitte 3D printers can work for years by not requiring any part for replacement or issues to give to its user. The laser has 10.000+ hours of lifespan(min 2 years in very active usage) Early users have been using the printers for over a year; they did not change any part but FEP films.
Masitte SLA 3D printers differentiate themselves from any other resin 3D printers with its never-seen design. Its motion system components are housed inside of the main case. When Z-Axis is in the zero position (bottomed down) MASITTE can be% 38 smaller than its Z-Axis top position.
A powerful laser system with 80-micron small laser spot size, precision galvo, and stable linear motion system enables accurate high detail prints.
Unlike other Kickstarters, today we do not only have just one prototype but more than 10 real users that rely on Masitte 3D Printers day by day. Thanks to Covid, we had a chance to wait for our users to experience our products for over a year, which helped us a lot to see small issues and experience many applications. Our early users gave our product 10 out of 10 and some are even already looking for getting the second printer or even the third.
“ We make user friendly 3D printers by benefiting our early users experiences without compromising the quality of our product. We will be keep improving our product and the industry by being in touch with our users. “ -Founder Fatih Durmaz
Masitte SLA 3D printer will go live on Kickstarter on February 15th, there will be 3 models Masitte Plus, Masitte Dent and Masitte Large with early bird prices of $1799, $2499 and $3999 for its backers.
Specifications of the Masitte SLA 3D Printer
Currently, Masitte has introduced 3 variants, i.e. Plus, Dent, and Large. Most of the features of the three variants are the same, however, there is a difference in build volume, laser power, and printer size. Major differences in the three variants are:
|Build Volume||150 mm x 150 mm x 190 mm||150 mm x 150 mm x 130 mm||230 mm x 230 mm x 390 mm|
|Laser Power||150 mW||150 mW||300 mW|
|Printer Volume||282 mm x 296 mm x 560 mm||282 mm x 296 mm x 500 mm||375 mm x 394 mm x 1040 mm|
|Weight||12 kg||11 kg||25 kg|
Masitte SLA 3D printer has a unique design that is not available with any other SLA printer. The main difference that the 3D printer has is it houses all the components of the printer inside the main casing. This means that when the printer is in its default state with Z-axis at the zero position, the Masitte is 38% smaller than its Z-axis top position. When compared with its printing area, the printer is one of the smallest SLA printers in the market.
How does “Reduced Separation” Technology work?
They have introduced the RS (reduced separation) technology, which prevents the FEP film from sticking to the optical glass, which causes failed prints. This claim of Masitte is yet to be verified by its users.
Light Source, Durability, and Print Quality
The Masitte SLA 3D printer uses an 80-micron spot-size UV laser. Light distribution in the print area is evenly distributed for uniformity of heat application and homogeneity of design. The company claims that the UV light source has a durable usable life of over 10,000 hours. This means that the UV light’s source has a very durable system that makes it very rugged and high quality.
High Print Success Rate
The company has also claimed that the first 10 users of the printer have experienced a success rate of 95% for all the prints made over the last year. This is a very high success rate for a new technology printer. However, something conclusive can only be said about the printer once there are market reviews available on a larger scale.
Slicer Software and Operating System
Masitte has introduced its own Slicer with the name of Masitte Slicer that is compatible with the printer. Furthermore, the printer can support other slicers as well, like the Chitubox, but you will have to use it with an STL file. In terms of operating system support, the printer supports both Microsoft and macOS. This makes it easy for a vast number of users to make use of the SLA printing technology.
