Packaging
The Sunlu glow in the dark filament packaging was noticed to lack a critical piece of information – a label indicating its material or color. This may pose difficulties when it comes to sorting out multiple filaments, especially if the user is not familiar with Sunlu products.
Despite this shortcoming, the rest of the package’s contents were impressive. For starters, the package had temperature settings for not only Sunlu PLA and Sunlu ABS filaments, but also for Sunlu PETG filament. This highlights the brand’s commitment to ensuring that users can reliably use their filaments in different settings.
Another notable attribute of the package was its sleek design. Its aesthetic appearance was pleasing to the eye, and it would be a great addition to any workspace. Additionally, the package was vacuum-sealed, which served as an extra layer of protection to keep the filament dry from moisture.
To ensure optimal storage and preservation of the filament, desiccant packets were included in the package to prevent any moisture from creeping in, which is a common cause of deterioration for filaments. Overall, despite the missing label on the packaging of the Sunlu glow in the dark filament, users can still expect a visually pleasing package with detailed temperature settings and well-maintained filament thanks to the included desiccant packets.
- Works and harmonizes perfectly with all common 1.75mm FDM 3D printers, thanks to the high quality standards in terms of manufacturing accuracy and the small tolerance in diameter of +/- 0.03mm.
- Complete drying for 24 hours before packaging and vacuum sealed with desiccants in nylon re bag.
- Glow in The Dark PLA filaments to be strict tolerances; Diameter 1.75mm, dimensional accuracy + / - 0.03 mm without any exaggeration; 1 kg spool (2.2lbs)
- No warping & Precision Diameter Excellent first layer adhesion to reduce warpage, shrinkage, curl and print failure. Good diameter control.
- Contains phosphorescent materials that glow in the dark after absorbing light energy; The glow effect is stronger when exposed to UV light. Please note that this type of filament should avoid long exposure to direct sunlight; The longer the exposure time, the faster the color fades.

We have selected a number of STL files that we believe will showcase the Sunlu glow in the dark filament in the best possible way. These STL files have been handpicked by our team members to ensure that they highlight the Sunlu glow in the dark filament’s unique properties and truly make it shine.
If you are charging the 3D printed models with LED lights or natural sunlight it does not give a very strong glow. Recently, I left some of my 3D models outside for a couple of hours and when the darkness fell, much to my disappointment, there wasn’t much of a glow. This really brought down my excitement level as I was hoping to use the Sunlu glow in the dark filament for garden ornaments. The subtle glow lasted for around 20 minutes only, which was really disheartening.
However, on further experimentation, I found out that exposing the 3D models to an incandescent bulb results in a much brighter and long-lasting glow. In fact, the Sunlu glow in the dark glow lasted for over 2 hours which is a lot longer than what Sunlu had previously described. Moreover, if you are looking for brighter results, it is advisable to go for 3D prints with thicker walls instead of thin ones. You could try playing around with the infill and adding a few extra shells in your slicer to get better results.
Sunlu White To Blue Glow In The Dark Filament
3D printing with the Sunlu glow in the dark blue filament was full of unexpected turns. Initially, it became evident that the filament took a significantly long time to charge as compared to the Sunlu glow in the dark green filament. However, what came as a surprise was the colour of the final product. The hope was that the blue filament would yield a more intense blue hue, but instead, it seemed to reflect more of a light blue, with white undertones.
Despite that, the final 3D prints turned out quite well, and they make great decorations. While blue isn’t the favourite colour for these 3D models, you can’t deny that it looks unique and eye-catching. In conclusion, the Sunlu glow in the dark blue filament may have its drawbacks, but it’s definitely worth a try if you’re looking to add something different to your collection.
Sunlu White To Green Glow In The Dark Filament
One of the most important qualities in glow in the dark filament is how well the filament will glow in the dark. That’s why I was so excited to try out the Sunlu glow in the dark green filament, and it quickly became my favorite.
As soon as I opened the package and saw the spool, I could tell that this filament was going to be something special. When I held it up to the light, I could see that it was already starting to charge, and I knew that the 3D models were going to be incredibly bright.
And sure enough, when I printed with the Sunlu glow in the dark green filament and shone a household light on the finished product, it was absolutely stunning. The glow was so bright that it lit up the entire area around it, and I couldn’t help but be impressed by the quality of this filament.
Conclusion
Glow in the dark filaments are very fun to print with but it is sometimes difficult to find a good quality glow in the dark filament. The Sunlu glow in the dark filament is easy to work with and produces good quality glow in the dark 3D objects.
It’s wonderful when a material exceeds our expectations, especially when it comes to creative projects like 3D printing. The visual impact of your 3D models can really enhance their overall appeal and make them stand out from the crowd.
Finding a high quality filament that produces results like this can be a game changer for a variety of creative endeavors. As long as you remember to use a steel nozzle if you intend to 3D print a lot of glow in the dark filament and to charge the objects in UV light sources, such as incandescent light bulbs. Natural sunlight didn’t go well for me but that not saying it wont do good for you.
