Yousu Tricolor Silk PLA filament prints similar to your standard PLA filament but Yousu’s PLA filament has a feature that is unique to it. As you can see below, when you look at a model that has been printed with the tricolor filament, each side will be a different color! I really like the idea of this and I think it can make for some really interesting prints in the future. Yousu Tricolor Silk PLA is one of my favorite PLAs for creating busts, as it has ample height to display the colors of the material.
One thing to keep in mind when using silk PLA filaments is that the filament is not really suited to mechanical or structural applications. At every temperature tested, layer adhesion suffered somewhat. However, if you are looking for an aesthetic print, this would certainly be a brilliant choice.

YouSu Tricolor Silk Filament
I always recommend doing a calibration for your filaments, especially when printing with a new filament. I go through at a minimum, a temperature, retraction, and speed check. A wonderful resource for G-code generation is Teaching Tech. For the Yousu Tricolor Silk, I ran these tests using the Black/Gold/Copper Filament.
Temperature on silk seems to run better on my printer setup under 200C. I found the best bridging and colors were at 190-195C. My retraction settings were like all PLA, 3mm at 40mm/s. Speed settings were surprising for this, as I could run at 100mm/s reliably. I printed outer walls for all the Silk PLA at 70mm/s and then infill and inner walls at 100mm/s.
One really cool model I found for printing dual and Tricolor Silk PLAs will also help with your print settings. This configuration disk should be printed as your first print and it will help with the orientation of your model. I used this for each of the colors and was able to put the colors on the models exactly where I wanted.
